Target Recalls Anima Bamboo Collection Games

Target announced a voluntary recall of Anima – Bamboo Collection Games manufactured by HaPe International Ltd., of Ningbo, China.

This recall involves the games that contain 38 bamboo pads, four ghosts, and one dice. The product’s packaging is an orange box with the words “Anima” and “BAMBOO Collection Games” printed on each side (pictured below). The recalled games were sold at Target stores nationwide from December 2006 through April 2007 for $10.

Consumers should immediately take the game away from children and return them to the nearest Target store for full refund, including applicable sales tax. For additional information, call Target at (800) 440-0680 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s Web site at www.target.com.

I purchased the game at FAO Schwartz December 2005...is my game recalled as well, or is it just the ones sold at Target?

Thanks.

Anonymous - According to the CPSC, the recall only affects products sold after December 2006. If you purchased yours in 2005, as your comment mentioned, your game should not be included in the recall. However, we always think it better to err on the side of caution so you should contact the company to verify that your game is ok.

It's too bad, too. Our son was really disappointed that we had to return it. He (and we, too) loved it. I'm going to try to make one, as I haven't been able to find a replacement.
