Monopoly Fans Around The World Attempt To Set World Record

To celebrate the release of the new Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition game, an estimated 3,361 people from around the world joined together yesterday to set a new Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Simultaneous Game of Monopoly.

At precisely 14:00 GMT, players in dozens of cities including London, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Lisbon, Hong Kong, Las Vegas and Atlantic City sat down to join a game of Monopoly in the hopes of setting the World Record participant count and make Monopoly history.

Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition is the first-ever world edition of the iconic game. The cities on the board were selected by fan's votes from around the world in early 2008 with Montreal becoming the most expensive piece of property on the board. The game is available now in stores around the world. Please visit www.monopoly.com to find out local availability and price.

The final tally of participants is pending verification from Guinness World Records. We will let you know the outcome as soon as available.
