Check out the first trailer for the Spike Jonze film adaptation of Maurice Sendak's Where The Wild Things Are.
I think the movie still looks really good, however I think that it would have been better if they let Spike Jones go with his original plan and make the movie a little darker. This trailer makes it look like the new cut is trying to be a little to inspirational.I hear the reasoning behind all the changes was because kids in the test audience thought the movie was too scary. While it may be the case the movie was a little scary for todays kids, the book wasn't really written for their generation. It was written 45+ years ago, and while it's still read today, the core audience of people who loved (and still love) this book are all old enough to not only deal with, but also embrace a darker, more closely adapted movie.
